Gravitas, Impact & Influence
"None of us has it all"
Sheryl Sandberg

This Is A Critical Skills Gap
Something you're not taught how to develop Gravitas, Impact & Influence in college or business school. It's an essential quality for leadership and high impact role, only one third of the people who need to have it, have it.
What is it?
-
Gravitas is the ability to command respect and exude authority through presence, confidence, and clarity.
-
Impact is making a strong, lasting impression by communicating with conviction and purpose.
-
Influence is the power to shape decisions, inspire action, and drive outcomes through persuasion and credibility.
An absence of it, carries a cost...
Lost Revenue:
If you or your people, fail to build relationships and to be influential - you won't be sponsored to the most senior levels where the decisions are made, and you'll fail gto be convincing. There’s a direct cost to businesses of missing out on winning a greater number of contracts, winning higher value contracts, increasing spend particularly with respect to taking relationships to a higher, more strategic level and for example a customer spend from $/£/Euro 250K to $/£/Euro 2.5M.
Continual Improvement & innovation
There's also the cost of stagnant innovation when individuals can't champion change or secure buy-in for ideas, limiting progress, competitiveness and growth.
Productivity and replacement costs:
Linked to replacement hires are compounded by challenges in attracting and retaining 'A' players, leading to higher attrition, hiring mistakes, and diminished performance.
Not being taken seriously.
Struggling to earn respect and recognition. Reaching a ceiling. Being passed over for leading high-profile projects.
Being passed over...
For promotion and missing out on career-defining opportunities and top-tier roles.

One In Four Have It!
"Having assessed thousands of professionals over the years, I’ve found that only one in four truly have it—the blend of Gravitas, Impact, and Influence that sets exceptional leaders and high-performing specialists in sales and consulting apart.
Our findings show that around 20% possess these attributes, while the remaining 80% come up short—often missing out on the success and fulfilment they’re capable of achieving.
The good news? These qualities can be developed. For most people, it’s not one single weakness holding them back, but a collection of small gaps that, together, dilute their overall impact. The guidance we’re sharing will help you recognise and close those gaps—so you can lead, influence, and perform with genuine presence and authority."
